GREENFIELD, WI — The Greenfield Health Department announced plans for several upcoming COVID-19 vaccine clinics available to kids aged 5-11 across Greenfield.

The clinics will provide those aged 5-11 with a first and second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine between Nov. 12 and Dec. 14.

"Research indicates that vaccines reduce the risk of severe complications related to COVID-19," said Darren Rausch, Greenfield Health Department Officer and Director. "For school children, getting vaccinated keeps them protected and reduces their likelihood to spread disease to classmates, friends, and family members (especially grandparents and others at serious risk of COVID-19 complications)."

School-aged children have long had to go without the opportunity to get vaccinated against COVID-19, but following FDA approval of the Pfizer vaccine in October, they are now able to get the shot. The CDC now recommends everyone aged 5 and up to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

Several clinics have been planned in Greenfield exclusively for kids 5-11 years old. A parent or guardian's presence will be required at the clinics to sign consent and vaccine documentation. Here are the details on the upcoming first dose clinics and their respective second dose clinics:
