Drivers Net A Staggering 410 Speeding Tickets In One Week
Milwaukee County drivers are lighter in the pocketbook after collecting a staggering 410 speeding tickets in one week.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Drivers on Milwaukee County freeways are a bit lighter in the pocketbook this week after collecting a staggering 410 speeding tickets over the course of a single week.
Acting Milwaukee County Sheriff Richard Schmidt instituted random saturation patrols on the county's freeway system starting last Thursday to address apparent issues of reckless driving and speeding in the area - especially in work zones along I-94 and busy interchange areas.
“I am pleased with the efforts of the deputies and troopers," Schmidt Said. "We will continue to make it publicly known that I am committed to the saturation patrols until we gain voluntary compliance to the laws in place to keep the motoring public safe.”

Schmidt pointed out that for every 10 miles driven at 10 mph over the speed limit, a driver is only saving 1 minute 42 seconds. "The time saved is not worth the risk to other drivers, nor the cost of the ticket," he said.
By the Numbers
This week, since last Thursday, 410 speed citations were issued:
