Drunk Driver Who Blacked Out Gets Behind the Wheel
A drunk driver who reportedly blacked out prior to getting behind the wheel was arrested after causing mayhem on Greenfield roads.

GREENFIELD, WI — A drunk driver who reportedly blacked out prior to getting behind the wheel was arrested after causing mayhem on Greenfield roads.
Antonio Guzman was charged with felony hit-and-run and recklessly endangering safety after a night of drinking on July 15 led to the fateful rampage on Greenfield roads.
According to his criminal complaint, Guzman told police that he was at his friend’s house at 24th Street and West Morgan Avenue at about 9:30p.m. and he decided to take Uber to CityLounge in Cudahy at 10:30 p.m. He consumed 4-5 beers and 4-5 shots while at the bar. They took Uber back to his friend’s house at 2:30a.m.

Guzman said he blacked out and decided to drive home.
That night, Greenfield police were dispatched to the intersection of South 76th Street and West Layton Avenue, on a report that a blue mid-size sedan was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes.

Greenfield Police located a disabled vehicle in the 4600 block of South 60th Street, and learned that the vehicle was struck by Guzman. On scene, police spoke with the driver of the vehicle that was struck. The driver stated he was traveling eastbound on West Layton Avenue and was approaching South 60th Street. He had a green light and began to turn onto northbound South 60th Street. While completing his turn the vehicle was struck on the rear driver’s side, according to his criminal complaint.
According to the criminal complaint, the driver said he made eye contact with Guzman briefly. He said the striking vehicle made no attempt to stop at the scene of the accident and fled eastbound on West Layton Avenue while traveling in the westbound lane.
Another driver saw Guzman traveling directly at him and he had to pull over to the side of the road to avoid a collision. He estimated the vehicle was traveling approximately 50 miles an hour. He got the vehicle's plate number and contacted police, the criminal complaint stated.
The license plate was listed to a 2004 Dodge Stratus. The registered owner of the vehicle was the above named defendant Luis Guzman. Police responded to the address of Guzman and spoke to him. Guzman stated that he was drinking at a bar in Cudahy and took Uber to the area of South 23rd Street and West Morgan Avenue, the criminal complaint stated..
Guzman didn’t remember being involved in an accident but he came to at approximately 4 a.m. He called his brother and decided to drop off the vehicle at his brother’s tattoo parlor in Bayview. Guzman said he blacked out from the alcohol and was not sure why he drove home after. Guzman could not remember the crash or where it occurred but he drove the vehicle to his brother’s tattoo shop located in Milwaukee, the criminal complaint stated..
