This year Queen Elizabeth II — who took the throne at age 25 — celebrates her Diamond Jubilee. We'll follow the Queen's fortunes as a woman: from a precocious 13-year old who falls in love with a young cadet named Philip and determines to marry him against her parents’ wishes to her 60-year career as a respected modern monarch. Through the lens of life-and-times history, we'll look at what it's like to be queen — and discuss the roles of royal family, including Charles, Diana, Camilla, William and Kate. We'll include a brief overview of women rulers in history in our discussion.
