One-hundred ninety-six students will walk across the Alverno College Pitman Theatre stage (39th St. and Morgan Ave.) on May 21 at 2 p.m. to receive their undergraduate degrees. Twenty-nine master’s candidates will receive their degrees from Alverno on Friday, May 20, at 7:30 p.m., in Alverno’s Wehr Hall, 4100 W. Morgan Avenue.
Commencement activities for undergraduates will begin with an 11 a.m. liturgy in the Alverno College chapel, followed by a brunch for degree candidates and their families. The undergraduate commencement introduction will be given by Carmen Ricco Michaelis, who will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing; the undergraduate invocation will be given by Rita Saavedra, who will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, Management and Technology; and the student address, “From Failure to Success: One School at a Time,” will be given by Samantha Hawley, who will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional Communication. The graduate commencement invocation will be given by Marion Dow-Vass, who will receive a Master of Business Administration. A champagne reception will follow the graduate commencement ceremony. Ricco Michaelis and Saavedra are Milwaukee residents; Hawley is from Campbellsport and Dow-Vass is from Racine.
