First Mothers: The Women Who Shaped the Presidents

Meet some remarkable women with one thing in common: they became mothers of U.S. presidents.  In First Mothers: The Women Who Shaped the Presidents, Bonnie Angelo tells the fascinating stories of these women and the powerful influence they had on their famous sons.  We’ll discuss the mothers and the growing up years of 20th century presidents, as Angelo does, but we’ll also look at some earlier “first mothers” beginning with Mary Ball Washington.  You don’t need to read Angelo’s book before the workshop.  Just join us, enjoy the stories of history and gain a better understanding of the lives of U.S. presidents.
