Holocaust Remembrance Service

Her father was arrested by the SS in 1941, taken to the Ponary forest, shot and killed. Months later, Raye David and her mother narrowly escaped liquidation of the Vilna Ghetto. She survived starvation, brutality and disease in Kaiserwald, Stuthoff and Kaufering labor camps before she was liberated at the Bergen-Belsen camp at age 17. Now she’s sharing her story.

In this rare opportunity, Holocaust survivor Raye David will tell her first-hand account of the atrocities she endured. The event is part of Alverno’s 11th annual Holocaust Remembrance Service, which recognizes the six million Jews who perished, and honors those who resisted and survived. The public is invited to attend this free event.
