Words of the Myths

3 Wednesdays, October 10 – 24

Greek and Roman mythology have been the source for thousands of words in our common vocabulary. About 65 percent of our words come from Greek and Latin; these “dead” languages are still pumping new life into the English language today. In this class you will explore the exciting tales of heroes, Titans, Giants and the Olympians to discover the derivatives and roots of common words. Learn about the dynamic characters within the stories to help you increase your word power through this adventure in English vocabulary.
