Forest Home George Webb Could Re-Open by Summer

The local George Webb Restaurant at 4845 W. Forest Home Ave. that was closed earlier in 2017 could re-open — but it would be with new owners

GREENFIELD, WI — The local George Webb Restaurant at 4845 W. Forest Home Ave. that was closed earlier in 2017 could re-open — but it would have to be under new ownership when it does.

City Documents filed with the Plan Commission indicate that Joan Groh and Craig Runkel of Wisconsin Webb Co., are requesting a special-use review as the new operators of the closed George Webb restaurant.

According to a report from North Shore Now, legal hurdles must be cleared for the new ownership to re-open the George Webb in Greenfield, but Groh told North Shore Now he expected it to open by early summer.

According to the report, the Greenfield Health Department closed the George Webb location earlier this year mainly because the owner was not available. Inspectors reportedly found eleven distinct health code violations ranging from inadequate temperatures for chili and chicken soup, lack of paper towels, and a lack of sanitizer in the restaurant's dish washer.
