GREENFIELD, WI – July 4th is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you this Independence Day. We gathered up all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in and around Greenfield, so you can start planning now.

A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 81. Light southeast wind becoming south 5 to 10 miles per hour in the morning.

Thursday Night

A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. South wind around 5 miles per hour, becoming calm in the evening.

Annual Parade

Where: The one-mile parade route will run east on Layton Avenue to Konkel Park. The parade participant lineup will stage along South 68th Street, between West Edgerton and West Layton Avenues. Participants should enter from the South at the intersection of 68th and Edgerton to check in. All participants will receive their assigned parade placement upon check-in with the Parade Coordinator, located on South 68th Street and West Holmes Avenue.

We welcome all volunteers and there is no cost to participate.

When: The parade will start at 12:00 p.m. Participant line-up will begin at 11:30 a.m. The House of Harley-Davidson's Milwaukee HOG Chapter will rumble down Layton Ave. will mark the 15-minute countdown to the start of the parade.

Fireworks Display

Where: Konkel Park, 5151 W Layton Ave, Greenfield, WI 53220

When: Greenfield's Grand finale fireworks are scheduled to begin shortly after dusk, 9:45 p.m.

Fourth of July Celebration

The 4th of July Celebration will run from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursday, July 4th. The festivities will begin with the 4th of July Parade and continues throughout the day on the grounds of Konkel Park.

Celebration Highlights Include:

  • The 5th quarter performance from the University of Wisconsin Marching Band
  • Family-friendly KidZone, sponsored by Fun Events
  • Community Tent, with local area organizations.
  • Food and Drinks local area vendors
  • The AMP, featuring the annual Greenfield Pageants, with live entertainment to follow by local area band Scattered and The Now

The day’s entertainment will close at 11:00 p.m., shortly after the grand finale of fireworks beginning at approximately 9:45 p.m.
