Greenfield Fire Investigated As Arson
A suspicious fire in Greenfield this week is being investigated as an arson case after a man admitted to setting the blaze.

GREENFIELD, WI — A suspicious fire in Greenfield this week is being investigated as an arson case after a man admitted to setting the blaze.
According to police, at 6:53 p.m. on July 10, Greenfield dispatch received a call of a fire at 4415 S. 46th St.
The caller reported flames coming out of the front window and black smoke rolling out of the house.

The home was engulfed in flames and was declared a total loss.

The Greenfield Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire, and no one was injured. All of the residents were able to get out of the house safely.

Greenfield officers located a resident of the house on the scene. The resident was questioned, and he reportedly admitted to authorities that the house was intentionally set on fire.
The resident was arrested and is being held on charges of Arson and Recklessly Endangering Safety.
During the investigation, there was an initial concern on the part of police that there was an incendiary device inside the house.
The Milwaukee Bomb Squad responded and determined the device was inert.The fire remained under investigation by the Greenfield Police Department and the State Fire Marshall.
