A Greenfield resident and brother to a Waukesha County Supervisor died in a car crash Wednesday in Jefferson County.
GREENFIELD, WI — A Greenfield resident was one of three killed in a car crash Wednesday on Interstate 94 in Jefferson County.
Thomas Henry Meier, 64, died in the crash. He lived with his wife Sandy Meier in Greenfield, according to Darlene Johnson, Meier's sibling. Johnson is a Waukesha County Supervisor and a Village of Mukwonago Trustee, Patch reported.
The crash happened near the 264 mile marker of Interstate 94 around 4 a.m. Wednesday. A truck pulling a trailer lost control and slammed into a guardrail, according to Jefferson County Sheriff Paul Milbrath. A car and then a semi struck the trailer and guardrail, he said.

"The whole Meier family (I am one of seven children) are devastated with the sudden loss of Tom (I called him Tommy). He was a wonderful brother. With my mom Dolores turning 90 years old on Saturday, this weekend, all of the family and cousins were coming together for her and now we are all in shock with the loss of this treasure of a man. We will now will have a gathering to Celebrate Life (mom's and Tom's). Tom was head usher at St. Alphonsus Catholic parish in Greendale, always giving so much. This is breaking my and all my siblings' hearts," Johnson said.
