Fecal Bacteria in Storm Sewer from Greenfield Speedway

According to a report, a sanitary sewer pipe was connected to a storm sewer pipe during a rebuild of the gas station this summer.

A and convenience store that was razed last April to make room for a more , released fecal bacteria into Honey Creek for approximately two months, according to a story by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The story said the connection between a sanitary sewer and a storm sewer resulted in the high levels of bacteria in a storm sewer discharge pipe under the S. 60th Street bridge.

The sewer connection issue was fixed by Sept. 1, the Journal Sentinel reported.
