Greenfield Staging 'Mock Crash' Wednesday
The highly-realistic reenactment will take place on the Greenfield High School track/football field beginning at 9:45 a.m.

GREENFIELD, WI — Officials in Greenfield say Greenfield High School juniors and seniors will learn a graphic lesson about the devastating consequence of drinking and driving on May 22, 2019. Students will witness a re-enactment of a drunk driving and texting accident that occurs after a school event.
Officials say the scene will be graphic. Left in the wake of the accident will be death, severe
injuries, and an 18-year-old drunk driver facing prison.
The highly-realistic reenactment will take place on the Greenfield High School track/football field beginning at 9:45 a.m. and will feature Greenfield police officers and firefighters, a Flight for Life Helicopter, rescue equipment - including the Jaws for Life - wrecked cars, and student “victims.”

Students Juliana Schmidt, Marion Bartlett, Emma Hoedel, Ahmad Assad and Victoria Meeker will play the roles of the victims.
Greenfield High School Principal Paul Thusius said in a statement,“the mock crash incident will be very realistic and timely. We want our students to be intimately aware of the often deadly consequences of drinking and driving and texting while driving. The fact that the ‘victims’ will be played by students and those living with the consequences by their parents, should bring
with it some very powerful, emotionally charged and memorable messages.”
