Head Football Coach Keith Ringelberg Stepping Down At Greenfield

Greenfield High School Football Coach Keith Ringelberg is stepping down after four seasons. Ringelberg was named Coach of the Year in 2021.

GREENFIELD, WI — Head Football Coach Keith Ringelberg, who lead the Hustlin' Hawks for four seasons, is stepping down, according to a Facebook post from the School District of Greenfield.

Ringelberg is stepping down due to family obligations, the post states. Assistant Coach Joe Hansen will step up as Interim Head Coach. Hansen has been one of Ringelberg's top assistants for the past four years.

"We have built a football program that stands for dedication, honor, a strong work ethic, and most of all tradition," Ringelberg said in the post. "Our players had a very positive impact on the school during my time at GHS."

Coach Ringelberg will leave Greenfield High School with an overall 16-18 record over four seasons. This spring season was one of the best- The Greenfield Hawks achieved a 5-1 record. Coach Ringelberg was named Coach of the Year by the Woodland Conference Grey Division, the post said.

"Coach Ringelberg provided stability to both the football program and the student-athletes," Greenfield Athletic Director Trent Lower said in the post. "This group of seniors developed their skills and matured as student-athletes as a result."

Ringelberg has made his way around the Woodland Conference in previous years. He formerly coached for West Allis before heading into the Head Coach position at Greenfield High School in 2017, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.
