Hoth to Retire as President/CEO of BBB Wisconsin

Randall L. “Ran” Hoth has announced to the Better Business Bureau Serving Wisconsin Board of Directors his intention to retire.

The Board has created a timeline to ensure proper transition in leadership by establishing Hoth’s retirement date of October 1, 2016. The Executive Committee has established a search committee to appoint Hoth’s successor.

In his 18-year tenure with the BBB, Hoth expanded the BBB of Greater Milwaukee into BBB Serving Wisconsin by building business owner accreditation support from 6,500 businesses throughout the state of Wisconsin.

Ran served on various regional and national committees within the Council of Better Business Bureaus, the governing body for 112 BBB offices throughout the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, including chairman of the BBB’s Operations Committee, which oversees innovation, execution and performance of member BBBs.

He was a leader in rebranding the BBB under one domain name and has become the name and face of BBB to help protect consumers and business owners from unscrupulous scam activity.

Hoth guided the BBB Serving Wisconsin during key transitions that modernized the Better Business Bureau and established its continued relevance in today’s online world, including the implementation of a new ratings system and the inclusion of customer reviews.

Hoth is past president of the Rotary Club of Milwaukee (the founding organization of the BBB Serving Wisconsin), he established the BBB of Wisconsin Foundation in order to broaden public service and educational outreach through programs including ethics awards, charter support for the Center for Character Ethics, Student of Integrity scholarships, ShredFest keeping Wisconsin consumers safe from identity theft, and continues to serve as the President of the Foundation.

Board Chairman, Bill Goodman, congratulated Hoth on his accomplishments with the BBB and the passion with which he delivered the “Start with Trust” promise through the “BBB Torch Awards” and many other community outreach activities.

“You have built BBB brand recognition as our chief ambassador for many years”, said Goodman.

The BBB wishes Ran well in the coming years. His passion for the mission of promoting trust between buyers and sellers in an ethical marketplace will live on in Wisconsin.
