The Inferno hosted the golf program's first-ever home meet, but Alverno College lost the dual to visiting Wisconsin Lutheran College, 413-501, Sunday at Whitnall Park Golf Course.
Alverno competed in just its third dual of the season, but improved the team's score for the third-consecutive time. This week the Inferno knocked off 41 strokes from its previous meet, and 142 from the season's opener.
Emily Ortner competed for the first time this season, yet still led Alverno with a team-low round of 121, while the Warriors' Jordan Fenney posted the low score of the day with a 98.

The four other Inferno golfers carded their best scores of the season as Jamie Villalobos totaled a 125, Trina Urick a 127, Megan Rossi a 128 and Kristen Speerschneider a 136.
Alverno competes in the program's first multi-team competition on Saturday, as it hosts Wisconsin Lutheran and Lakeland College at Whitnall Park Golf Course at 10 a.m.
