Just a couple of quick tips to help keep your garden bounty fresher.
1.) When picking strawberries, leave a little bit of the stem attached. This keeps the berries fresher. Also, don't wash them until just before you are going to use them.
2.) Fresh garden radishes. You can remove the greens, sorting and discarding any yellowing, discolored or bug eaten leaves and enjoy eating them raw or lightly steamed. To keep your radishes fresher longer, leave the root end on and place in a bowl of cold water just covering the roots and place in the refrigerator. They will keep fresh for over a week.
I also have quite a few homegrown, heirloom, organic tomato starter plants available for your yard or garden. Call for prices and varieties available.
