Labor Day Weekend OWI Arrests in Milwaukee County
Drivers from Milwaukee, West Allis, Mount Pleasant, Greenfield and more were taken into custody over the long weekend.

MILWAUKEE COUNTY, WI — Acting Sheriff Richard Schmidt ordered increased Labor Day weekend Drive Sober patrols beginning on Friday, September 1, through Tuesday, September 5 at 6:00 a.m. The initiative focused on keeping the public safe through increased traffic enforcement.
A woman faces misdemeanor charges for DUI-1st with a minor child in the vehicle: Alyssa Taylor, age 29, of Milwaukee. One repeat offender was arrested for DUI-3rd offense: Gary Schwichtenberg, age 62, of Greenfield.
On Sunday, at about 8:45 p.m., a deputy stopped a vehicle on I-43 northbound at Highland Road in Ozaukee County after multiple people called 911 about a vehicle deviating lanes in Milwaukee County.

Alyssa Taylor stated she was going home and thought she was headed southbound. A six-year-old child was in the front seat, covered by a blanket, and not restrained in a child safety seat. Taylor said she had two tequila drinks before driving. She tested a .20 on the PBT.
Child Protective Services was contacted to take custody of the child. Taylor faces up to 60 days in jail, if convicted of the DUI-1st with Passenger Under 16 Years of Age.

First-time offenders were Milwaukee residents: Brian Brooks, age 55, Dakota Langhammer, age 21, Lashawna Thomas, age 29, Stephan Chelig, age 29 at time of arrest, Rickey Montgomery, age 37, Shantisha Sanders, age 54, Talkhum Ashirvo, age 54, Otis Pollard, age 57, Al Jenkins, age 53, Juan Zermeno-Andrade, age 22, Alesandro Salas, age 25, and Andrew Debroux, age 24. Also taken into custody for DUI-1st were Kazimir Barulek, age 75, and Claritza Caban, age 25, both of West Allis, and Kristine Olle, age 28, of Mount Pleasant.
