Wisconsin Dairy Lawsuit: If You Bought Milk, Dairy Over Last Decade You Could Be Owed Money

WISCONSIN — If you bought milk or other dairy products in Wisconsin over the last decade, you could be eligible for cash benefits from a settlement reached in anti-trust litigation currently pending in federal court.

According to court documents, a host of U.S. dairy producers will pay $52 million to settle the class-action lawsuit, in which dairy producers were accused of slaughtering more than 500,000 cows to reduce milk supplies to artificially increase prices at stores.

The settlement pending in court means that anyone who purchased dairy products since 2003 could be entitled to a cash payout.

According to court documents, you are a member of the class-action lawsuit if you purchased milk or other fresh milk products (including cream, half & half, yogurt, cottage cheese, cream cheese, or sour cream) while a resident of the following states:

Arizona, California, the District of Columbia, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, Oregon, South Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont, West Virginia, or Wisconsin during the period of 2003 to the present for your own use and not for resale.

The Court has ordered that this notice be published to inform you of the settlement and your rights in the litigation.
