A Milwaukee man was charged in connection with three bank robberies that happened in Milwaukee and Greenfield between August and November.
MILWAUKEE, WI — A Milwaukee man is facing charges in connection with three bank robberies that took place between August and November in Milwaukee and Greenfield, according to a criminal complaint filed in Milwaukee County Circuit Court.
Issac N. Jones, 56, of 300 West Kilbourn Avenue in Milwaukee, was charged in December with three counts of robbery of a financial institution, online court records show. A criminal complaint obtained by Patch says two of the robberies Jones is accused of took place at a US Bank location at 2303 Farwell Avenue in Milwaukee and one happened at a US Bank location at 4333 South 27th Street in Greenfield.
The first robbery took place on Aug. 23 at the US Bank near Farwell and North Avenue in Milwaukee. A teller told police a man walked in, presented a duffel bag and asked for money "without any dye packs" while implying he had a gun, according to the complaint. The teller gave the man $7390 from two drawers, the complaint said.

The second robbery Jones is accused of happened on Nov. 22 at the South 27th Street US Bank location in Greenfield. A teller told police a man walked into the Greenfield bank and started to wait in line. The man was holding a US Bank debit card but when he approached the counter he handed the teller a plastic bag and told them he had "nothing to lose, I’ve got a gun. You know what you got to do," according to the complaint.
Police say in the report Jones robbed the Greenfield bank location while under the influence of crack cocaine.

On Nov. 26, the US Bank location on Farwell and North Avenue was robbed again. According to the complaint, a man approached the teller window, slipped a plastic bag through the opening, and demanded cash while implying he had a weapon.
The teller told police they placed around $1500-3000 on top of the bag and planted a tracking device in the money, the complaint says, and once the man took all of the money the teller ran and pulled the silent alarm. A teller told police they were also present for the robbery in August and that they believed it was the same suspect for both robberies, according to the complaint.
Milwaukee police said in the complaint officers were able to track the suspect using the device the teller planted. Police said they tracked the device to a 2012 Hyundai Elantra, pulled the car over and found Jones sitting in the back seat. Jones later told police he paid the driver and a passenger of the Hyundai $100 each for a ride and that they had done nothing wrong, according to the complaint.
If convicted, the charges against Jones could carry a maximum of $300,000 in fines and up to 120 years of imprisonment.
Police said in the complaint that Jones told them the robberies were to obtain money to purchase drugs. Milwaukee Police added Jones wrote an apology note and that he was remorseful during a post-Miranda interview.
Between what police recovered, estimates from Jones, and estimates from the banks he is accused of robbing, the complaint shows around $10,000 was stolen.
