Meet Whitnall School Board Candidate Jesse Stachowiak

"The primary focus is to bring the surrounding communities and schools together to focus on unified goals," Stachowiak told Patch.

GREENFIELD, WI -- Voters in the Whitnall School District will head to the polls on Tuesday, Feb. 19 to decide how best to narrow down a field of candidates for two school board seats.

Whitnall School Board Candidate Jesse Stachowiak, a parent of three Whitnall elementary school students, and an Information Technology Infrastructure Analyst by trade, says he wants to get more people involved with Whitnall schools.

"The primary focus is to bring the surrounding communities and schools together to focus on unified goals. I will work to make sure everyone is fully invested in our district and most importantly our students," he told Patch.

What are the reasons you’re running for office:

I have 2 children at the Elementary School level. I would like them to have the best opportunity to succeed and to have a greater impact on both their educational future, as well as all the other children in the district. I think it is important for the board to contain parents of current students. I want to make Whitnall a district that is attractive to all residents regardless of whether the household contains students.

Highlight the top 2 or 3 issues you would like to work on as a member of the board:

The district recently released a campaign called "All In," which I believe is the main issue. The primary focus is to bring the surrounding communities and schools together to focus on unified goals. I will work to make sure everyone is fully invested in our district and most importantly our students. My strategy is to increase visibility of community and school events and boost attendance.

This will allow more interaction between students, parents and district residents. It will also generate added dialogue between parents and school officials in a friendly environment. Another issue I would focus on is monitoring the results of personalized learning, and the impact it has made on the students.
