Missing Jazz Club Founder Turns up Dead; 2 More Shot and Killed Sunday Night

MILWAUKEE -- Two men were shot and killed overnight Saturday, and the owner of a jazz club who went missing earlier in the day was found deceased in his own club.

A 65-year-old jazz club owner was found dead Saturday after he and another man were reported missing earlier in the day.

Police found the body of Donald Lewis, founder of the Young Urban Jazz Cafe, hidden within his establishment at about 8 p.m. Saturday. A suspect has been taken into custody, according to police.

The other man reported missing along with Lewis Saturday found at a Milwaukee residence.

1 a.m. Sunday

A man in his early 20s was found suffering from a gunshot wound just after 1 a.m. near 27th and Hope Ave. The incident was brought to police's attention using ShotSpotter neighborhood monitoring technology. When police and rescue arrived, live saving measures were attempted, but the young man died on the scene.

2:45 a.m. Sunday

A shooting was reported at the Comments Nightclub at 52nd and Hampton. A 32-year-old male victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound when officers arrived on scene, after police were called to the scene on a report of a man with a gun.
