With the amount of rain that we have had this season, the next couple of months are going to be swarming with the dreaded mosquito. You can reduce the amount that find a home in your yard by dumping any standing water that might be present, and cleaning and refilling any bird baths that you may have. If you do indeed get bitten by a mosquito, you can lessen her sting, (Yes, I said her, only the female mosquito bites), by applying a few remedies that are found in almost every home.
Applied directly to the bite with a cotton swab or cotton squares:
* apple cider vinegar ( reduces the pain and inflammation)
* pure olive oil ( used for its antibiotics properties)
* or Aloe Vera gel or juice from a Aloe Vera's leaf harvested from your own plant. Gently squeezing the juice from the leaf. (Aloe is used for cooling and also has antibiotic properties) If you do not have a aloe vera plant, "Kathy's 2nd Chance Plants, LLC" always have some very healthy plants available for sale.
