Grate Mac And Cheese Opens In Greenfield's 84South

Grate Modern Mac and Cheese has officially opened in Greenfield's 84South development near South 84th Street and West Layton Avenue.

GREENFIELD, WI — Grate Modern Mac and Cheese has officially opened in Greenfield’s 84South development near South 84th Street and West Layton Avenue.

The new 2,600-square-foot restaurant features a dozen gourmet mac and cheese entrees, such as “Buffalo Chicken,” ”Mexican Street Corn” and “ BBQ Pork.” All Grate menu items are crafted from recipes that are developed in-house using only Wisconsin milk, butter and cheese.

Since opening last year, Grate has launched online ordering at www.gratemac.com, catering services of any size for delivery or pickup, Grate and Bake, rotating seasonal mac and cheese entree flavors, and breadsticks with house-made herb butter, all of which will be available at its new location.

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive response to our first Grate Modern Mac & Cheese in Menomonee Falls,” said Abby Hansen, Vice President of Marketing at Roaring Fork. “We’ve received so much encouraging feedback, and we look forward to bringing our twist on traditional macaroni and cheese to a new community in southeastern Wisconsin.”

Roaring Fork chose 84South in Greenfield because of its accessibility from the highway and its central proximity to southern Milwaukee and neighboring communities, Hansen said. The new restaurant will employee about 25 to 30 people and be open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Grate features a Woodstone oven on display for guests so they can watch the creation of their mac and cheese entrée from its fresh, grated cheese start to its melted finish in a personal-sized ceramic skillet. The restaurant group worked directly with the chefs at Woodstone to perfect the cooking time and process. Grate is the only mac and cheese restaurant using these premier ovens.

Roaring Fork; Milwaukee-based owned and operated Qdoba Mexican Eats franchise with 56 restaurant locations; opened the mac and cheese restaurant last August in Menomonee Falls. That location was the first restaurant of its kind in southeastern Wisconsin.
