State Wrestling Hopefuls in Sectional Today

Wrestlers must finish first or second to advance to state tournament.

Twenty combined wrestlers from both Greenfield and Whitnall will be putting their seasons on the line at Greenfield High School today.

The contingent is competing in the WIAA Sectional at 10 a.m. Saturday. The wrestlers who finish first or second at the meet advance to next weekend’s WIAA Individual State Tournament.

Kameron Bourgeois, a 103-pound senior who sports a 41-1 record, leads a Whitnall group that also includes Ruben Garcia (119 pounds), Troy McGee (125), Evan Olson (135), Matt Price (140), Ian Coleman (145), Mason Howard (152), Nathan Barnhart (160), John McGee (171), James Taylor (189) and Josh Langenohl (215).

Greenfield’s sectional representatives are Andrew Patrick (112), Dominic Caputa (119), Alec Adams (125), Taylor Wirtz (130), Dominic Kroll (135), Andrew Krueger (140), Kevin Vazquez (145), Matt Brendemihl (189) and Zach Stelse (285).
