Street Angels Outreach Changes Greenfield Location

A collaborative outreach program that helps those affected by addiction and homelessness is moving from Mondays to Tuesdays.

GREENFIELD, WI — Greenfield Fire Department announced that its collaborative outreach program with Street Angels, Inc has moved from Mondays to Tuesdays. The program provides outreach to anyone struggling with addiction, homelessness, harm reduction and more, according to a Facebook post from the Greenfield Fire Department.

Each Tuesday from 10 a.m.-noon Greenfield Fire Department will offer a list of services at the Walmart parking lot located on Highway 100 and Layton Avenue, the department's Facebook post said. The outreach program changed from occuring each Monday to each Tuesday, the post said.

Street Angels, Inc has partnered with various community organizations across the Milwaukee Area to create the community outreach programs. Each outreach will offer help to those affected by homelessness, addiction and hunger, according to the Street Angels website.

The program was expanded to the Greenfield Fire Department in February 2021, the Street Angels website said.

"These partnerships have broken down the barriers and silos and offer immediate resources to those in need," the Street Angels website said.

Here's how the community can help the outreach program from Street Angels and Greenfield Fire Department, according to the Street Angels website:

  • Volunteers are welcome to assist Street Angels. People can volunteer to help with sorting and labeling donated items and help with accepting those donations. Volunteers are welcome Tuesdays from 1-3 p.m. and Fridays from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Monetary donations are accepted as well as items. Street Angels is looking for men's jeans, sweatpants, t-shirts and shoes. Insect repellents, hygiene kits, tarps or umbrellas, toiletries, bulk snack foods that are individually packaged and household cleaning supplies are all currently accepted.

Donation drop offs are 11 a.m.-1 p.m. every Friday at Ascension Lutheran Church located at 1236 South Layton Boulevard in Milwaukee.
