Man Identified Who Died in Greenfield Tool Shed Explosion

GREENFIELD, WI —The man was killed in Greenfield early Thursday when a tool shed exploded.
Andrew J. Knutson, 24, was pronounced dead Columbia-St. Mary's Hospital after he was transported from the scene of the blast.

According to a WISN News report Thursday morning, a fire official on the scene of the blast said that the man was a resident of the Willowick Apartment, on the 7000 block of West Southridge Drive at about 10:15 a.m.t.

As police and fire units arrived, they found a maintenance shed fully engulfed in flames, and the male victim lying outside the shed with extensive burns.
The man was immediately removed from the scene while paramedics administered life-saving measures. Upon arrival at Columbia St. Mary's Hospital, he was pronounced dead.

Noone else was injured in the explosion and subsequent fire.
The maintenance shed was a total loss, however no other structures were damaged. The cause of the explosion and fire are under investigation.
