GREENFIELD, WI β Police say a man attempting to put gas in his disabled vehicle on the shoulder of I-43 was struck by another vehicle and was declared dead at the scene late Saturday.

Officials said the driver of the striking vehicle stopped in the left distress lane and ran across all lanes of traffic to rush to the aid of the person he struck. A Good Samaritan attempted to give CPR until deputies and Milwaukee Fire Department personnel arrived on scene to continue life-saving measures.
The sheriff's office reported that the victimβs vehicle sustained driver side damage, but the two occupants, a 58-year-old woman and a 6-year-old child, were not injured. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by a Milwaukee Fire Department paramedic base doctor, and was identified as Angelo L. Quin, age 27, of Greenfield. The 30-year-old driver of the striking vehicle was not injured and gave a voluntary blood draw, and showed no signs of impairment, according to authorities.
