West Allis Cousins Subs Awards Bridget Blask of Franklin Elementary School With "Teachers Make It Better Award"

Bridget Blask, a school counselor and teacher at Robinwood Elementary School in West Allis, Wisconsin, has been honored through Cousins Subs’ “Teachers Make it Better” program with Cousins Subs sandwiches for a year.

The Cousins Subs® restaurant at 1469 S. 108th St. in West Allis asked students to nominate a teacher who “makes it better.”  Nominations were posted in-store throughout the month of May, Teacher Appreciation Month.

“It was inspiring to see so many heartfelt nominations,” noted Matthew Somoles, marketing manager, Cousins Subs.  “It was a difficult decision, but, ultimately, Mrs. Blask’s nominations stood out.”

Mrs. Blask was nominated for “making it better” because, as her students put it, “she helps with problems, teaches us how to handle bullying and help others who are being bullied and makes me smile when I walk into class feeling sad.”   She is a fifth grade teacher and school counselor.

“An important part of Cousins Subs’ mission is to ‘Make It A Better Day,’” Somoles continued.  “Teachers are making it better in so many ways every day.  We wanted to do something for teachers to show our appreciation.”
