Whitnall Reaches Two Social Media Milestones
The Whitnall School District recently enjoyed a pair of social media milestones, reaching 1,500 Facebook likes and 400 Twitter followers.

The Whitnall School District recently enjoyed a pair of social media milestones, reaching 1,500 Facebook likes and 400 Twitter followers. The district reached both new plateaus earlier this month.
“We are very appreciative that so many people – students, parents, alumni and community members – choose to follow what’s going on in our schools and engage with us through social media,” said Superintendent Dr. Lowell Holtz. “We use social media to keep our stakeholders informed, and show them that great things happen in our schools every day.”
The district uses social media for a variety of reasons, including highlighting special district, school and student recognitions and accomplishments; sharing information on upcoming events; posting photo galleries; updating district news and announcements, spreading real-time information such as school closings; and much more.

The district launched its Twitter account 19 months ago in November 2014. Over that same time period, the district has enjoyed a 63 percent increase in Facebook likes.
“We’ve made a concerted effort to boost our social media presence,” Dr. Holtz said. “We fully understand that people often receive their information on their phones, tablets and computers whenever it’s convenient for them. We want them to have the latest district news and events available at their fingertips anytime they want them.”
