• Whiz Kid's Accomplishment: Srinidhi, an eighth-grader, was one of 100 students statewide that qualified for the state geography bee to be held in Madison on April 1.
• Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness: Prior to this year, Srinidhi had never won a school-level geography bee, but now he's on a roll. After winning a class-level competition and then a school-level contest, Srinidhi took a written test given to all school-level winners across the state and placed in the top 100 to earn his invite to the state bee. Srinidhi said he did not prepare for the school-level bee in any special way -- he relied on his knowledge of the world and previous geographic teachings -- but he has been prepping for the state bee by reading a lot and studying geography facts.
