Wisconsin Burger Joint Named One Of The Best In The U.S. In 2018

America has a long-running love affair with hamburgers, and a Wisconsin burger joint was named to Thrillist's list of the 31 best burger joints in America.

The Badger State burger that Thrillist decided is one of the best in the country from Kopp's Frozen Custard, which has three Milwaukee-area locations: Brookfield, Greenfield, and Glendale.

"The first time I took a bite of their burger, which at first glance looks like nothing more than your classic diner double adorned with the requisite vegetation, but upon further review has that magical alchemy of melty cheese, glutenous bun and perfectly seasoned patties that only the greats possess," Thrillist reviewer Matt Lynch wrote.

Kopp's may be known for their burgers, but it's their line of frozen custard that puts them on the map. Tripadvisor reviewer Roger R. had this to say about Kopp's:

"Large hamburger on a buttered warm bun, carmelized fried onions, ketchup and brown mustard with a single dill pickle slice finishes that hamburger to perfection. Each and every bite seems better than the first. Fries are very good as well. Did I mention they have two flavors of the day that will usually tease the palate just right? If that doesn't appeal to you, then vanilla and chocolate are delectable as well. If you go the route of specialty sundaes, I'd recommend the Peanut Butter Log or Turtle sundaes. 25 + years ago my wife and I had our first date at this destination and we migrate back a few times each year with joy and happiness at every visit. A true Milwaukee Iconic fast food family restaurant."
