Wisconsin Unemployment Numbers Down: Feb 2019
The largest decreases occurred in Greenfield, Manitowoc and West Allis by 0.8 percent.
From DWD: The Department of Workforce Development (DWD) today released the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) estimates of unemployment and employment statistics for Wisconsin metropolitan areas, major cities and counties in Wisconsin for February 2019.
In brief, the non-seasonally adjusted data for Wisconsin showed:
- Metropolitan Statistical Areas: Preliminary February 2019 unemployment rates declined in all 12 metro areas over the year. The Green Bay metro area declined by 0.6 percent, the largest over the year decrease of all 12 metro areas.
- Municipalities: Preliminary February 2019 unemployment rates declined over the year in all of the state's 33 largest cities. The largest decreases occurred in Greenfield, Manitowoc and West Allis by 0.8 percent.
- Counties: Preliminary February 2019 unemployment rates declined or stayed the same over the year in 68 of Wisconsin's 72 counties. Douglas, Iron, Door and Vilas counties experienced a 0.8 percent decrease, which tied for the largest decrease in the state.
