UPDATE: Police Identify 36-year-old Man, Other Motorist in Fatal Crash
A 36-year-old man is dead after he became pinned in his own vehicle in a two-vehicle crash on I-94 late Tuesday night near Menomonie.

DUNN COUNTY, WI — A 36-year-old man is dead after he became pinned in his own vehicle in a two-vehicle crash on I-94 late Tuesday night in Dunn County near Menomonie.
Authorities have identified the deceased man as Clint Earl Huff, a 36-year-old man from Franklin, Kentucky.
Authorities have identified the driver of the other vehicle as Laurence Hartl, a 67-year-old man from Naperville, Illinois. He was not injured.

The Crash
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, State Troopers responded to report of a semi-truck that jack-knifed and in the ditch on I94 at mile marker 43 in Dunn County just after 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Upon arrival the Trooper discovered it was actually a pick-up truck that was pulling a semi-trailer that was loaded with industrial fans.
After further investigation it was found the vehicle was traveling in the right lane, began to lose control, and then jack-knifed. It continued to slide down the road, striking another semi unit, and came to rest in the right ditch near the rest area ramp with the trailer landing on top of the truck.
The driver, a 36-year-old man from Kentucky, was pinned in the vehicle and did not survive the crash. The driver of the other semi unit that was involved was not injured.
Assisting agencies included Menomonie Police Department, Dunn County Sheriff’s Department, Menomonie Fire Department, Menomonie EMS, and Mayo One.
The crash remains under investigation by the WI State Patrol.
