800+ Job Openings Available at Chippewa Valley Job Fair

70 local employers anticipated to attend premiere hiring event.

EAU CLAIRE, WI – The Wisconsin Department of Workforce (DWD) is collaborating with the West Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Board and Eau Claire County Job Center partners to host the Chippewa Valley Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 11 at the Eau Claire Indoor Sports Center. Seventy local employers are anticipated to attend the premiere hiring event, offering more than 800 entry level through advanced job openings in customer service, healthcare, human services, manufacturing, office/clerical, retail and more.


"The Chippewa Valley Job Fair provides area hiring managers and qualified job seekers with an invaluable opportunity to quickly make in-person employment connections, " DWD Secretary Ray Allen said. "Thanks to our collaboration with local workforce development partners and event sponsors, hundreds of local job openings will be available under one roof during the event to help expedite the hiring process."

Registered Chippewa Valley Job Fair businesses include: Advanced Laser, Cummins Filtration, Global Finishing Solutions, Hospital Sisters Health System – Sacred Heart and St. Joseph's Hospitals, Kwik Trip, Lutheran Social Service, Marshfield Clinic and many more. Employers must register to participate by May 4 at: JobCenterofWisconsin.com/events

Chippewa Valley Job Fair admission is free for job seekers. Attendance is limited to pre-screened job seekers with tickets through 12 p.m., at which point the event opens for the general public until 2 p.m. Details follow:

  • Pre-screened U.S. Military Veterans with Tickets Only: 10 – 10:30 a.m.
  • All Pre-screened Job Seekers with Tickets: 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • General Public Admitted without Tickets: 12 – 2 p.m.


To obtain an admission ticket, job seekers must bring a copy of their resume to the job center for staff review. Job Center staff assistance also is available for individuals who need to develop a resume. Find your local job center here: JobCenterofWisconsin.com/directory

"Ticketed job seekers stand a better chance of success with job fair employers due to the guidance they receive from our professional and experienced job center staff," said DWD's West Central Wisconsin Job Service Director Steve Blodgett. "All job seekers are encouraged to visit their local job center before the event to participate in a review session, offering resume proofreading assistance and effective solutions for articulating skills and qualifications to potential employers, as well as help with preparing employer introductions and interview responses."
