Register to Vote to Avoid Long Lines on Election Day; Absentee Voting Already Underway

Hudson City Clerk Nancy Korson has announced that absentee voting in person began on Monday, Oct. 22, at Hudson City Hall. City residents can vote in person from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. until Friday, Nov. 2. City Hall also will be open until 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1 and Friday, Nov. 2.   No absentee voting can take place on Monday, Nov. 5.

To avoid long lines on Election Day, people who need to register can also register at City Hall until Nov. 2. Proof of residence is required with voter registrations. Additional information is available on the City of Hudson website.

Voters from aldermanic districts 2 and 6 are reminded that on Election Day — Tuesday, Nov. 6 — long lines are anticipated at the polling place for both registration and voting. The Community Room in the lower level of the St. Croix County Government Center does not provide adequate space for people waiting in line. Voters should be prepared to stand in lines that could be outside the building, and to wear appropriate outer clothing for the weather conditions.
