Hudson Varsity Lacrosse Beats Northfield 15-6
Despite being outscored 4 to 6 in the second half, Raiders lacrosse team built on a 11-0 shut out first half to beat Northfield 15 to 6 at River Crest Friday.
It was a tale of two halves Friday at River Crest as Hudson won the first half 11 to 0, but lost the second half to Northfield 4 to 6. Fortunately for Hudson, the final score is what counts with a 15 to 6 win.
McKay Potter scored the first goal, and provided an assist to Brandon Schwartz on the second goal. Adam Lipps then scored the first of his 3 goals, all in the first quarter. Taren Motte scored the 7th goal of the first quarter shutout.
Joey Hernandez and Henrik Wiesemeyer scored goals in the second quarter, and Potter added 2 more goals for a halftime lead of 11 to 0.

Early in the second half, the Raiders committed a double penalty and were 2 men down when Northfield scored its first goal, and the momentum seemed to shift. With both teams back at full strength, Northfield added another goal before Will Reece and Motte each scored to maintain the lead at 13 to 2.
In the fourth quarter, Northfield netted 2 goals early to make the score 13 to 4. After a save by the Northfield goalie, Schwartz stole the ball from him and appeared to score, but the official waved off the goal. Northfield added another goal, making the score 13 to 5. Hudson’s Trevor Quade scored and Schwartz added his second goal to pull ahead to 15 to 5. Northfield added a closing goal for a final score of 15 to 6.
