Raiders Lacrosse Team Clinches Division Title with Win over St. Paul
Varsity lacrosse beats St. Paul and clinches the regional title.
The undefeated Hudson Raiders lacrosse team clinched the Minnesota Boys Scholastic Lacrosse Association East Division title with a hard-fought 9 to 7 win over the St. Paul Celts Thursday at River Crest.
McKay Potter started the scoring. The Celts then scored 2 goals, and the Raiders found themselves trailing for the first time this season, with a score of 1 to 2 at the end of the first quarter.
Hudson’s Carter Schuett evened the score at 2, and Taren Motte put Hudson ahead 3 to 2 before halftime.

Potter again started the scoring in the second half to put Hudson ahead 4 to 2. St. Paul then scored 2 quick goals to tie the game at 4. Brandon Schwartz and Joey Hernandez each scored for a 6 to 4 Hudson lead after 3 quarters.
St. Paul led of the 4th quarter with a goal to pull within one at 6 to 5. Potter and Schuett each scored another goal, giving Hudson their biggest lead of the game at 8 to 5. St. Paul, however, refused to give up. They scored 2 goals late in the 4th quarter to pull back within one goal. Hudson’s Will Reece put the punctuation mark at the end of the game with a goal for a final score of 9 to 7
