On December 7, 2010, Hudson resident, Brian Lautenbach, 38, suffered an unexpected stroke. Three days later he passed away. There were no warning signs, no preparation and no proper goodbyes for his wife, Colleen, and four young children – Annika, Oran, Kaspar and Freya. Later it was discovered that Brian had a rare genetic blood disorder that went undetected.
With this kind of unexpected event comes unexpected burden. To help “lessen the burden” and celebrate Brian’s passion for life, family and friends are a hosting a benefit 5K walk/run and kids 1/2 mile fun run on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Weitkamp Park in Hudson.
“Brian was so full of life and full of love for his family,” said Nicole Munro, a close friend of the family and the event’s organizer. “This event is about remembering Brian and keeping his spirit alive for all those he touched.”
