Former Lost Boy of Sudan John Bul Dau

The Lost Boys of Sudan are 27,000 boys orphaned during the 2nd Sudanese Civil War who undertook an incredible journey to refugee camps in Ethiopia and Kenya, enduring separation from their families, war, hunger, wild animals and disease.  In 2001, 3800 were resettled in the United States and faced the challenge of assimilating into a new country and culture.

Tuesday, October 25th at 7 p.m., former Lost Boy of Sudan John Bul Dau will share his life experiences through a presentation in the Stillwater Junior High School Auditorium. John is featured in the award winning National Geographic film God Grew Tired Of Us and authored the books God Grew Tired Of Us and Lost Boy, Lost Girl: Escaping Civil War in Sudan

Ticket prices are $5 for students and $10 for adults.  Tickets will be available beginning October 10th in the Stillwater Junior High Main Office during school hours or by calling 651-351-6952.

A reception and book signing will follow the event.  Local bookstore Valley Bookseller will sell John's books and a variety of other books about the Lost Boys of Sudan.  10% of all book sale proceeds will be donated to the SJHS project.
