Five Deals in Hudson this Week: April 6

Area fitness centers offer savings.

I hate to say it, but swimsuit season is around the corner. Fortunately this time of year fitness centers are offering savings on membership and services. Here are five offers that stand out:

Curves

In April, bring in a bag of groceries or donate $30 to the Hudson Food Shelf through Curves, and the joiners fee (value $99) is waived. Month-to-month membership for an individual is $44, or sign up for one year to receive $10 off per month. With a year membership members can also use any of the 10,000 Curves franchises around the world, where 4 million women are members. New to Curves in Hudson is a “zumba” workout, where members use Latin dance moves during the 30-minute circuit routine. “It really makes the workout more fun and more aerobic,” says owner Dar Goulett.

Ultimate Fitness/Riverfront Athletic Club

Ultimate Fitness is moving from uptown to downtown on May 9 and changing its name to Riverfront Athletic Club. It is offering a moving special: If you sign up for the 18-month single membership, monthly fees are $30 (discounted from $39) and the one-time enhancement fee is $29 (normally $50). Couple and family membership have similar discounts. The club will continue to offer senior/student membership rates plus classes in step, boot-camp and zumba and now pilates, yoga, spinning, and more. The new digs will still have a three-day free trial and a tanning facility. “The enhancement fee is paid once during your contract and is used specifically for new equipment and enhancements to the club. We survey our members and ask what they’d like to see improved,” says personal trainer Diane Olivieri.
