The Hudson High School baseball team's season ended when it ran into the buzz saw that is the section's top-seeded Stevens Point team, 11-1 in five innings, in Wisconsin Rapids on Thursday afternoon, according to a post on the team's website.
Just for the right to face the Pointers in the section final, the Raiders endured a 12-inning nail-biter against conference rival Eau Claire Memorial, winning 3-2 just minutes before the first pitch against Stevens Point.
From the team's website:
Hudson finishes the 2013 season with the best record in program history at 14-2 and finished ranked No. 9 in the last WBCA Poll. They finished the season on a school-best 10-game winning streak before falling to Stevens Point and won 21 of their last 24 games dating back to last year's run before falling to the Panthers in the sectional finals.
