UPDATE: Details Clear for Hudson's Aug. 27 Stanley Cup Event

Davis Drewiske, a Hudson native, was a member of the 2011-2012 NHL champion Los Angeles Kings, and he will be bringing the Stanley Cup to Hudson from 4-8 p.m. on Aug. 27.

UPDATE (2:24 p.m., Aug. 14, 2012): More details are now available about the Stanley Cup event happening in Hudson on Aug. 27. 

According to event organizer Trisha Danielson, the free event will take place at the Hudson Sports & Civic Center from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 27, and the trophy will arrive at some point during the event.

Numbers will be given out for those who wish to have their photo taken with the Stanley Cup. Only one photo will be shot per number.

Also on hand will be the 2001 WIAA State Championship trophy that Drewiske won as a member of the Hudson Raiders and the 2006 NCAA National Championship trophy that he won as a member of the Wisconsin Badgers.

In addition to Los Angeles Kings defenseman Davis Drewiske, speakers at the event will include Hudson Mayor Alan Burchill, former Hudson Hockey Association President Russ Lewis, former Varsity Hockey Coach Mike Stoskopf, Athletic Director Steph DeVos and Varsity Coach Brooks Lockwood.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase, as well as T-shirts and player cards. Drewiske jerseys will be up for bid in a silent auction. 

The event is free, but attendees are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item to donate to the the local food shelf.
