The Hudson High School baseball team swept a doubleheader on the road against Eau Claire North Tuesday night to earn its first conference title since 1979, according to a message posted on the team's Facebook page.
According to the team's website, the Raiders have four conference championships, all in the 1970s (1973, 1974, 1975 and 1979).
The Raiders have been regional champs seven times, including last year (1989, 1999, 2002, 2004, 2007, 2009 and 2012).

Hudson has earned just one sectional championship in team history, and that was in 1974.
The next step for the 2013 Raiders (11-1) is either Merrill or New Richmond in the regional final at 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, at Grandview Park.

Hudson is the No. 2 seed in the Wisconsin Rapids section, which also includes Eau Claire Memorial (No. 3), Marshfield (No. 4) and Stevens Point (No. 1).
