The volunteer Board is made up of seven co-op owners who each serve 3-year terms. The main duties of the Board of Directors are to hire/monitor the General Manager, communicate the needs and desires of the membership into a “plan”, and make sound financial decisions for the co-op. Directors also get the satisfaction of serving a growing organization that provides the community with quality products and education. Board members have a voice in shaping the future of the co-op while working with a group of people who share a commitment to a democratic process and a sustainable local economy.
If you are considering applying to be a candidate, HGC asks that you attend one of the following Board Candidate Orientation Sessions: Thursday, September 18th 6-7; Tuesday, September 30th 6-7; or Saturday, October 11th 9:30-10:30. The meetings will be held at the Hudson Area Library at 700 First Street. The sessions are open to anyone interested in learning more (you need not be a HGC member yet – there is still time to join HGC before the election).
