Hudson Middle School Principal Dan Koch has been named a Principal of the Year by the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators
Principal Dan Koch has been named a Principal of the Year by the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators in a ceremony in the school's gymnasium this afternoon.
The issued the following press release at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012:
On Wednesday, March 28th at 1:00 p.m. in the Middle School gymnasium, Principal Dan Koch will be recognized by the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators (AWSA) as one of Wisconsin’s Principals of the Year. Each year AWSA chooses one elementary, middle and high school level principal to be awarded this honor.

Mr. Koch is being recognized for his personal excellence as a leader of middle level learners; his collaborative leadership; guidance in curriculum, instruction and assessment; and focus on personalized learning for students. Mr. Koch has modeled unparalleled leadership capabilities throughout a period of time in which Hudson Middle School student enrollment has risen tothe highest student population in one grades 6-8 school building in Wisconsin. All the while, Mr. Koch has led his teaching staff toward high expectations, resulting in improved student achievement scores in both reading and mathematics. As a result, Hudson Middle School has received the Middle School of Excellence Award twice.
According AWSA, after the three Wisconsin principals of the year have been chosen, the selection committee forwards the name of the Middle level principal of the year for nominationin the NASSP (National Association of Secondary School Principals) National Principal of the Year program.
