If We Build It, Will You Come?

   It's official. I am horrible at making decisions.Apparently I'm also really hard on myself! I'm not asking you to feel sorry for me, but scheduling events is hard. Scheduling book clubs is even harder. What is the perfect day and time each month to ask people to join us for our new mystery reader's book club? Should it be morning or evening, early in the week or late in the week? Part of the point is to get more people in the store. Mondays and Tuesdays are slow so why not schedule a club?

   We also want ongoing events that don't require you to read the book every month. Show up to whenever you can. Overall we just hope to see lots and lots of Hudson, River Falls and New Richmond people at Chapter2Books. Lakeland, Afton, Baldwin, Roberts, Prescott .......

MONDAYS

Every Monday morning is MONDAY MORNING ZOO! Story time 10:30ish

We say 10:30ish because we don't want you to stress about time on a Monday morning.

TUESDAYS

Every second Tuesday our Mystery Lovers book club meets at 7 pm

This Tuesday, 9/10 will be the first meeting. Newcomers will always be welcome.

Every last Tuesday of the month is BUZZ BOOKS- 11 A.M. Buzz Books is meant for anyone who just wants to talk books. What have you read that you love? Need some ideas? Are you new to Hudson and looking for a book club?

Join us!(We also have an evening Buzz Book group every last Thursday,7pm)

WEDNESDAYS

Join us every Wednesday afternoon for tea. Or coffee......we'll treat!We can chat about books, what's going on in Hudson, life and of course...more books. 3-5 every Wednesday.

Every last Wednesday of the month will be the Wine and Words group, 7 pm. What better way to head out of the month than with a casual gathering to sip wine and talk books? We'll choose October's book at September's meeting on 9/25 at 7pm. Newcomers always welcome.

THURSDAYS

Every Second Thursday is Trash Talkers night. We'll be talking all things green. I did quite a lot of public speaking on green living in the last 8 years but I am far from perfect. We don't have a zero waste house or carbon neutral energy use but we try to do the best we can. Join this group if you want to try your best too. We'll compare notes, read books on environmental issues, bring in speakers and hopefully make some change.

Third Thursdays at noon. This group always welcomes new members. They'll be discussing Michael Perry's Pop 485 on 9/19.

FRIDAYS

Fridays are great nights for author events. Friday, 9/13 we'll be welcoming best selling and award winning author William Kent Krueger. Kent will be discussing the latest in his Cork O'Connor mystery series, Tamarack County at 7pm.

Every last Friday nights are FAMILY FUN NIGHTS. From 6-8 we'll have story times (sometimes in our pj's) crafts, games and prizes, fun for all. Our first Family Fun Night will be devoted to some of Hudson's favorites: Ivy and Bean, Origami Yoda, Skippy Jon Jones and many,many more!

You won't want to miss Family Fun Night in October either. We'll have a special guest, John Coy , who will help us kick off Basketball season.

SUNDAYS

Second Sundays book club is devoted to Regional Reads. 3pm. There will be no problem choosing books for this group every month. Possible suggestions will include reading authors like Dan Woll, William Kent Krueger, Erin Hart, David Housewright, Michael Perry etc.

Join us every third Sunday if you want to SELL YOUR STUFF. Do you have things you've wanted to sell on e bay or etsy but don't know how to start? I can help! Maybe you've started and have questions about pricing, listing, taking good photos, shipping. Let's compare notes and get it done! 3pm.
