Local High School Trapshooting Final Conference Results

The regular season of the Scholastic Clay Target Program has drawn to a close and the 2023 final Conference standings for the Northern Wisconsin Clay Target Program - Western Blue Division are in. Each year, the standings get closer and more competitive. The many cases of ties were decided by reverse runs and head-to-head competition if needed, and often came down to the narrowest of margins.

After 7 weeks of regular Conference competition, the final standings are as follows: 1st place Varsity team went to Hudson, 2nd place to New Richmond/Somerset, and 3rd place was Amery. For JV teams, 1st place went to Hudson, 2nd place to NR-Somerset, and in 3rd place was River Falls. The top Overall Male Athlete goes to Jake Burger (Hudson) and Top Female Athlete goes to Kelly Maier (NR-S). The runner ups for Varsity are: 1st: Wyatt Reindahl (Amery), 2nd: Nathan Johnson (NR-S), and 3rd: Michael Arnett (Hudson). JV was as follows: 1st Luke Jannusch (Hudson), 2nd Rhett Carlson (Baldwin) and 3rd Trevan Anderson (River Falls).

New this year, an All-Conference team was recognized across all divisions based on the athlete’s total competition average. Athletes in the Western Blue Division that were selected for this team are: 1st Team: Jake Burger-Hudson (V), Kelly Maier-NR-S (JV), Gavin Jennings-River Falls (IA), Westin Ward-Osceola (IE), and Jack McNitt-Osceola (Rookie). 2nd Team: Wyatt Reindahl-Amery (V), Luke Jannusch-Hudson (JV), Izzabella Arnett-Hudson (IA), Wyatt Hanson-Amery (IE), and Tanner Reed-Osceola (Rookie)

Also, the final Western Blue Division tournament of the year was held in Amery, WI.

The top individual Varsity athletes were Collin Jalowtiz – 50/50 (RF), Jake Burger - 50 (Hudson), Blake Goering – 49 (RF) and Logan Willems - 49 (Hudson). Top JV athletes were Kelly Maier - 48 (NR-S), Luken Manor - 47 (NR-S), and Kale Polk - 46 (Baldwin).

Senior/Varsity Squad

1st Place River Falls: Collin Jalowitz, Blake Goering, Rafe Belisle, Connor Bamman, Cole Rogaczewski.

2nd Place Hudson: Jake Burger, Logan Willems, Micah Rambo, Isaac Marty, Sadie Richter.

3rd Place NR - Somerset: Wyatt Mendlik, Cole Webster, Conrad Webb, Grant Getschel, Ava Pesha.

Junior Varsity Squad

1st Place NR – Somerset: Kelly Maier, Luken Manor, Jake Schmitt, Gavin Zaun, Max Cochran.

2nd Place Hudson: Noah Svoboda,Luke Jannusch, Evan Jones, Logan Alters, Tyler Welch.

3rd Place Baldwin Woodville:

Kale Polk, Rhett Carlson, Hannah Heilhecker, Dillon Smith, Chase Lee.
