Friends, family, and community leaders gathered at Whitetail Ridge Corporate Park (River Falls, WI) on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 to commemorate the ceremonial groundbreaking of NCCM Company’s new 26,000 square foot production facility. It is located on a 4.77 acre lot along Prairie Drive in Whitetail Park. The mezzanine level pushes the total space to about 30,000 square feet.
Derrick Building Solutions, LLC of New Richmond, Wisconsin is NCCM’s general contractor and Central Bank is the lead lender. The building will be constructed of pre-engineered steel that includes an exterior of architectural metal panels and glass. The eave height is 26 feet, sloping back to 23 feet. The interior includes a 3,600 square foot mezzanine level.
NCCM Company was formed in 2009 when Brent and Julie Niccum purchased the intellectual property for 3M’s proprietary mill roll material. NCCM manufactures and markets the non-woven mill rolls around the world. The mill rolls are used for wringing, tension and strip control at various steps in metal processing operations like steel and automotive production. The rolls are made of 3M’s material and sold exclusively to NCCM. The rolls are exported to more than 30 countries.

At the groundbreaking Julie and Brent announced their new roles in the company. Julie, formerly NCCM’s president, will serve as CEO, and Brent, who had been the firm’s CEO, has moved to the newly-created position of Chief Technology Officer. Brent’s CTO position helps maintain the company’s focus on mill rolls and their future in the metal finishing industry. Brent worked at 3M on research and development technologies for 20 years and continues to cast vision in new technology and process improvements.
More than 20 associates are employed at NCCM and this number is expected to grow. The company exports products to 33 countries on every continent. NCCM Company as named as the 2009 Emerging Business of the Year in St. Croix County by the EDC as well as a 2011 Wisconsin Company to Watch by the former Wisconsin Department of Commerce and Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Network.
